Screenshot search guide
How to find a pornstar from a screenshot
A useful screenshot can turn an unknown face into a shortlist of visual matches. The quality of the frame and the way you crop it matter more than adding keywords.
Open the pornstar finderThe short answer
Pause the video on a sharp, front-facing view, capture the frame, crop it around one face, and upload or paste it into PornByPhoto. The finder compares that face with indexed adult results and ranks the closest visual candidates. Review several matches before deciding whether any candidate fits the original frame.
Step-by-step screenshot workflow
- 01
Pause on a clear frame
Choose a moment with minimal motion blur where the face is visible and not covered by a hand, hair, captions, or player controls.
- 02
Capture at the best available quality
Use the highest playback resolution available before taking the screenshot. A larger original frame preserves more facial detail.
- 03
Crop around one face
Remove borders, subtitles, logos, and unrelated people. Leave the complete face visible rather than cutting off the chin or forehead.
- 04
Upload or paste the image
Open PornByPhoto and choose the file, drag it into the upload area, or paste the copied screenshot with Ctrl+V.
- 05
Review several candidates
Compare the top results with the original frame. Check stable features instead of relying on hairstyle, makeup, or one expression.
- 06
Try another frame when needed
If the candidates are weak, capture a second clear angle from the same video. A different useful frame can improve the comparison.
Frame preparation
Why the right frame changes the results
Video compression, motion, and low light can erase the small details used in visual matching. A frame captured while the subject is moving may look acceptable at normal playback speed but become soft when cropped. Move a few frames forward or backward and look for the moment when the eyes, nose, jawline, and outer face are all visible.
Capture before cropping. Taking a screenshot from the highest-resolution source gives you more detail than zooming into a low-resolution frame first. After capture, crop away empty space and interface elements, but do not crop so tightly that parts of the face disappear. When a scene contains multiple people, create a separate crop for the person you want to search.
Quality checklist
Use the clearest evidence available
The finder does not need a perfect studio portrait, but it does need a readable face. Check these points before searching:
- The face is large enough to inspect without heavy pixelation.
- Both eyes and the main face outline are visible.
- The frame has limited motion blur and compression artifacts.
- Subtitles, controls, and watermarks do not cover the face.
- The crop contains one person rather than a group.
Face similarity is not exact reverse image search
Exact reverse image search tries to locate copies of the screenshot or pages where that same frame appears. PornByPhoto does not perform that kind of web-wide duplicate lookup. It uses the face inside your screenshot to retrieve visually similar indexed results. This can work when the exact frame is absent, but it also means the closest result may be a lookalike rather than the person shown in the video.
Use the porn image search for this visual workflow. If your goal is broader discovery rather than checking one likely identity, use the pornstar lookalike finder and treat the results as resemblance suggestions.
How to review a possible match
Do not stop at the first card. Open several strong candidates and compare repeatable facial details against the original frame. Hair color, makeup, lighting, and camera angle can change dramatically between scenes; face shape and feature placement are more useful. If available, compare more than one image of a candidate before treating the name as a likely answer.
A weak result list does not mean the closest card is correct. It may mean the screenshot lacks detail or the relevant face is not represented clearly in the index. Try another frame from the same video. If the second search produces a different set of distant candidates, record the result as inconclusive rather than forcing an identification.
Use screenshots responsibly
Only upload images you have the right to use. Do not use face search to expose, track, or harass a private person, and never claim that a similarity result proves someone appears in adult content. The output is a ranked set of visual candidates, not verified identity evidence.
